This book was they most amazing thing I've read in a long time (that's saying something because I just finished the whole twilight series). It's a raw account of what High School has been like for me so far (I'm in 10th grade), except maybe the setting, and made me think about how High school is so tough and there are times you don't think you can make it through. It made me fell lucky to have my amazing friends and my amazing boyfriend. These are things I can't take for granted and am sorry that I did for however short a time. This is the one book of the few books where I strive not to be like the main character, though in so many ways I am. I hope that know one has to go through the things I experienced in Middle School as the over mature teenager who should have been born two years earlier with most of my friends. 8th grade was one of the toughest years of my life and this book made me look back on those times and opened up some of my still healing insecurities with my weight and girls my age. It sounds stupid to say these things about a book, but It really did do that to me and I'm still healing after finishing it a week ago and then re-reading my favorite passages over and over. This book made me remember the day I discovered that my "friends" had ditched me and started making fun of me behind my back. It became so bad that I would come home crying after being teased or ignored. I still had some friends, but they hung out with these people and didn't talk to me unless we were alone or pretty close to it. Girls I had helped join the popular group by lending then a hand, suddenly turned on me and made my life miserable. I never had closure from this event, but now I think I'm starting to get it. Even after I started dating my boyfriend who is everything I ever wanted (Seth Cohen from The OC and Nate from Gossip girl combined with a little of Edward from Twilight's protectiveness thrown in. And he's a Junior =D) I couldn't forget about my past. I must thank this novel for helping me get past this. If you haven't ever had an experience like this or one on the same level as it this book is still an amazing read that I highly recommend to every one.
